If you’ve been following my blog you know I have a big girl-crush on Rachel Hollis. She’s the author of several books, but most recently a New York Times bestselling author with her personal growth book, Girl, Wash Your Face. This book changed my life and how I saw the destructive negative talk I’ve learned to tell myself my whole life. When I heard that another book was coming out I pre-ordered it immediately. Girl Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals does just that, it helps you set up the roadmap you need to make that next step in your life.

This book is different from Girl, Wash Your Face in that this gives you step by step introductions on how to work towards your goals. She’s devised a clever trademarked plan for your dreams called 10 – 10 – 1: ten years, ten dreams, 1 goal. Not only has this book motivated me to continue with my own personal goals, but it has also made me think that I could actually achieve it, which is much harder. Remember all the negative self-talk that I’ve learned my whole life? It’s going to take time to cut it out, but I’m taking the right steps to make sure I show up for myself and my goals.

What I love about this book is that it’s easy to understand and yes, the premise is quite simple, but it’s the things you need to hear. It’s the things that you already know, but you stop yourself because it’s hard to achieve your goals or you don’t have the support at home to go for it. This is your cheerleader of a book to help you get off your butt and start reaching for the impossible. As you can tell, I’m fully pumped while writing this review because it’s that good. Even if you think you don’t have a goal in mind, read the book. You’d be surprised what you will learn about yourself. I did.
