Theodore is 10 months old! I love watching him morph into the person he will become. He is teething like crazy now and chewing on everything in sight. His two front teeth are coming in and nothing is safe! He is chewing on the furniture and on anything he can get his hands on.

That also means the nights are tough with him waking up from pain and needing to nurse more frequently. In order for me to get any sleep during the night Daniel and I have to switch off. I go to bed with Theodore around 8ish and when Daniel comes in later I then move into the guest bedroom. I run back and forth when needed for nursing, but he doesn’t seem to nurse as much when Daniel sleeps with him. In the morning we switch back so Daniel can go to work. We are hoping this phase passes soon because it’s been tough.

This past month we also went on our first family vacation to Majorca! It was a dream there and the perfect first trip for our little family. We stayed at the resort the whole time enjoying the sunshine, the kid pools and the all inclusive meals. Our favorites was the buffet! LOL.

We definitely see the appeal for families that take charter trips. It’s just so easy and you don’t have to plan anything yourself. We stayed at the Zafiro Palace in Alcudia. It’s a 5 start resort with all inclusive meal packages.

Plus, there is so much to do during the day for both adults and children. Theodore was a little too young for most things, but he enjoyed the baby pool and floating around.

Theodore and I were sick at the start of the trip with a cold, so that wasn’t so pleasant, but he bounced back quickly. By the end of the trip he was healthy again.

This past month Theodore also met his other grandpa and grandma from the US. It was nice to have them stay at our place and spend time with him. I have never seen my dad with an infant so it was fun. They became vegetarians last year so that was an interesting cooking challenge for me. My dad was a hardcore meat eater so it was weird to see him pick at vegetables like they were juicy steaks. Let’s just say we ate plenty of meat after their visit.

As for Theodore’s development, he also started standing on his own! Grabbing everything as leverage and propping himself up. That’s causing a lot of trouble and little tumbles. I have to watch him even closer now. Oh, and now he refuses to lay still while changing his diaper. We’ve moved him down from the changing table because it was just getting too dangerous. Now we have him on the floor, but he manages to wiggle out! Impossible.

His appetite has increase now that he’s more mobile. He totally rejects my home cooked meals now in favor of store bought jars. I know they are also good, but they only have 7% meat and you never know where that meat is coming from.

He also is showing signs that he wants to feed himself. He’s been eating toast and I’ve been giving him fruit so he can try to eat with his hands. He is like the hulk though and ends up crushing it into pieces.

Since my last post, I’m doing emotionally better. I haven’t been back to the therapist yet, we’re waiting on times, but little changes in the daily routine have made a difference. I hope this trend continues and in no time I’ll be back to my normal fun, loving self! For the past 3 months, I’d say I was only healthy for 1 week. I caught a cold in August right before our trip to Paris. I was still sick when we came back and then we had Theodore’s christening which I was so sick and stressed over (wanting it to be perfect) and then going on vacation in Majorca I was sick. When I came back from that trip I was starting to feel better, but after my father’s visit I got sick again! I have never been this sick so often and for so long in my life. I usually have a very strong immune system, but I guess not sleeping doesn’t let the body recover. There is no way I can fight off the virus when I’m physically exhausted. I’m hoping our new sleeping arrangement helps fix that.
