We were unlucky with the weather during our quick trip to Venice. Daniel caught the cold that I had so desperately trying to get over and he stayed in for the first full day. The weather was cold, rainy and we had warnings for floods, so there wasn’t much time to sightsee. I did manage to go out on my own for an hour or so and that’s when I found the big square….
On our second day in Venice, Daniel was feeling well enough to do a little sightseeing. We hopped into an original gondola and took a tour around the city. It was breathtaking. What was more impressive was how the gondoliers navigated these very narrow passages.
The stores had lavish masquerade masks and costumes. They were beautiful and handcrafted. It gave me some Halloween ideas!
