Wishing my gorgeous big sister the happiest of birthdays! That’s right her birthday lands a day after mine, but 7 years before. I’m sad I can’t be with her this year to celebrate our birthdays together, but I’m happy to know that she and my brother are having the time of their lives in Russia!

My sister and I have spent many birthdays together ever since we were young, unfortunately for her, she had to sacrifice her birthdays so that her baby sister could have age appropriate birthdays. That included Chuck-E-Cheese birthday parties when she was a teenager. Not so fun for her.

As we got older she decided that she would spend every birthday in a different country. She’s been to some of the most amazing places in the world and I’ve have been fortunate enough to join her on a few trips.

Years ago, I was working for a company that had its headquarters in Monterrey, Mexico. So on one of my business trips, she came to visit and we celebrated our birthdays with my amazing colleagues and friends from Mexico.

Our next birthday trip together was a tour of Spain. We went to 15 cities in 14 days, to say it was intense is an understatement, but it was also an experience of a lifetime. We got to see all the major cities in Spain and we were able to spend our birthdays together.

For my 30th birthday, Daniel had surprised me with a birthday trip to Paris! It was on my dream list of places to go. They had coordinated plans so that my sister’s Europe trip would end in Paris the same time we were in the city. We spent our birthdays together and went to see the Palace of Versailles.

Our next birthday trip was to South America where we visited Brazil, Argentina and Peru. We had massages by the beach in Rio, marvelled at the foot of Christ the Redeemer, had amazing steaks and wine in Argentina. In Peru, we climbed Machu Picchu. The view was incredible.

Our latest trip together was last year, it was a milestone birthday for my sister and my last birthday as a single woman. So we wanted to do something extra special so we went to Dubai and stayed at the Burj Al Arab hotel, the world’s first 7 star hotel. It was the most luxurious experience of my life. Our suite had panoramic views and was a two level apartment with butler service for anything we wanted. We were transported by a chauffeured Roll Royce and went to the best restaurant in the city. It was by far one of the best birthday trips we have ever taken together.

So many beautiful memories shared with this amazing person! I’m the luckiest girl to have her as a sister! I can’t wait for what the future brings and the many many birthdays we will celebrate together!

Happy Birthday Daisy! I love you!
