Jetset & Go

My Dad always said that if I found a job that paid me to have fun and talk, I’d be the best. Well he was right! I work for a small IT company in Malmö, Sweden as the Director of Sales. I can easily say that I love my job. I like the people I get to interact with and I do believe our team is one of the best in the world. Yeah I have bad days too, but overall I’m pretty content with where I am. I was so worried when I moved to Sweden that I wouldn’t find a job that could also be a career. I was ready to settle for anything, but I got lucky.

The nature of our business has me traveling a lot. Usually to the East Coast, but also internationally within Europe which has been fun and exciting to see new cities. On this particular quick trip to Princeton and NYC, I only needed to pack enough for 2 meetings, leaving room in my suitcase for some much needed replenishments of home essentials. More about that in a later post.

I’ve always found it difficult to find fashionable work appropriate clothes for petites. I’m 4’11” which in metrics is about 150 cm. Yes, I’ve adopted the metric system, but still struggle sometimes with the conversions! LOL. Words that describe my work attire esthetics: classic, feminine and professional. #girlboss

I’ve found that DVF wrap dresses fit my small stature and curvy frame just fine! I also appreciate that stores are starting to offer more and more petite options.

This outfit was specific for a lunch meeting in Princeton. I didn’t want to be too formal, but I still wanted to look professional.

  1. DVF Wrap Dress
  2. Theory Coat
  3. Burberry Scarf
  4. Christian Louboutins
  5. Louis Vuitton Mini bag

Reality: I paired this with my Tiffany & Co. beaded necklace and earrings and Atlas ring.

For my early morning meeting I opted for power navy. Also paired this with my Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

  1. Ann Taylor Dress
  2. Tahari Blazer
  3. Chanel Two Tone Pumps

I didn’t have time to take a selfie and to be honest, I love piecing outfits together more than I like taking selfies. If I were in my 20’s that would have been a different story, but now I feel a bit more reserved. Maybe it comes with age, I don’t know, but it’s really not about me in general. I just wanted to show how you can piece outfits together, mixing pieces of high and low end.
