So I’m off on another business trip. This time I’ll be on a longer extended trip visiting 4 states in a week and a half. I have meetings in New York City, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington DC. I’m tired just thinking about it. I used to get more excited and eager about my business trips. It was always a reason to come back to the states to get a sense of home, but I have to admit that these days it can be a bit of a chore. First of all, I’m away from Daniel which totally sucks. I enjoy our “boring” way of life where I come home and he’s there every day. Secondly, I tend to travel alone and even if it’s somewhere new that I haven’t been to, I’m still experiencing everything by myself. I have breakfast, lunch and dinner alone. And of course I am working the whole time so it can be quite exhausted, not to mention being jet lagged the first few days. I end up working both Swedish and US time zones.
I was lucky enough to be upgraded to business class on this trip (Thank you SAS)! So the flight was quite enjoyable. But driving in NYC…wow… that was interesting. Driving the crazy streets of LA does not compare to the mean streets of NYC. And the people here don’t care that you are driving or that it’s your turn on the green light. They will walk around the front of your car without a care. I definitely miss driving in Eslöv where there are maybe 5 cars on the road at any given moment.
Tomorrow I will be in Philadelphia, I’ve only been there once for a trade show a long time ago so I don’t remember much of the city. It’ll be nice to explore. Let’s see what Philly is all about!
