Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite days of the year. It has become more of a commercial holiday, but I still believe it is a nice day to celebrate the ones you love. To remind yourself to tell them how much they mean to you and how grateful you are to have them in your life. It’s about expressing things that you may forget to do as work and life gets in the way. Daniel bought these flowers for me and it was such a nice surprise to come home to.

We had a lovely night out in Malmö with a delicious dinner at Årstiderna. The restaurant is in the cellar of this amazing building. The past month has been a bit challenging for me. Adjusting to the Swedish lifestyle is harder than I had anticipated and there was really no way to understand this without experiencing it. The dark gray really affects me and I’ve heard from many Swedes that it affects them too. But I need to always keep in mind why I am here. I am here because I love Daniel and I want to share my life with him. No amount of gray can take that way from us. He has been my rock and amazingly patient as I go through all my crazy emotions and at the end of the day, he smiles and loves me just the same. This Valentine’s day was extra special because it was the first of many that will be spent in my new home, Sweden.
