We received a very special visitor my sister, Daisy! She will be staying with us for 3 weeks and spending both Christmas and New Year with us! I’m so glad she could come and see how I’m living here in Sweden. This is her first time in Sweden so I hope she has a good time because she will have to visit often! 😉
We have started an ornament tradition in our house where every year we buy a special ornament. This year, Daisy, had the honor of hanging it on the tree. I hope for the tree to be someday filled with all different ornaments all with special meaning and special memories. So when we have children and they have Christmas trees of their own, we can pass some to them.
This year we wanted to try something very Swedish, so we tried our first Julbord at the Grand Hotel in Lund. This a traditional Christmas table where you have all types of traditional Swedish foods. Some common examples are all types of Herring dishes, Christmas ham, meatballs, lox and eggs…etc.
This was my first time eating Herring which is a traditional fish here in Sweden. It was pretty tasty although some mixtures were better than others. It was nice to share a first Swedish experience with my sister and Daniel.
