Last night I witnessed something only few Americans get to do, to watch a live Champions League match. Champions League, is an annual continental club football competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). It is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world and the most prestigious club competition in European football. Our home team Malmö FF was playing against Atletico Madrid. Unfortunately, we were defeated 2-0, but it was still an exciting experience.

I bought these tickets for Daniel’s birthday in October. We were seated 2nd row from the field on the home team’s side. You could feel the energy and pride of the fans. They didn’t stop singing or chanting the entire game. Even when the other team scored, they continued to sing loud and proud. Such a great game!

Roy Hodgson took over at Malmö FF in 1985, which he led to five consecutive league championships, two Swedish championships and two Swedish Cups. He was in attendance last night and you can tell the fans still love him.

I learned a few things about being a fan of soccer or fotboll, you have to jump up and down to show you love Malmö, you have to announce each player as the announcer does and you have to hold up your Malmö FF scarf when they sing the Malmö FF anthem. So interesting!
