This past weekend we hosted our first dinner party! We invited some of Daniel’s closest friends to come over and enjoy a night of food, drinks and fun. Cooking for 10+ people proved to be a daunting task, so I asked Daniel for a slow cooker. This thing is amazing! I’ve had slow cookers in the past, but never one this large. We got it and put it to work right away, in a span of 21 hours we made 3 pot roasts and it was all tender and delicious!

I will definitely use this slow cooker for all our big events, like the other dinner parties we will be hosting soon. Daniel comes from a large extended family, so I’m sure the next dinner party will be just around the corner. I also got to put my Le Creuset to use for my potatoes au gratin.

On the menu: beef pot roast with potatoes and carrots, potatoes au gratin, oven-roasted asparagus, cold pasta salad and a simple salad.

Overall, I think the party was a success! Nothing beats good food and good company.
